Welcome To Our Classroom!

This year I had to change my classroom up.  I received my roll and had 3 siblings of students I have previously taught so I needed to make sure EVERYTHING was different :)
Our "wonder wall" will be used for students to post their wonderings.  Anything they are interested in inquiring about can go on the questions side of the board.  If the question is answered they may move it and its answer to the answers side.
The Cafe board is going to help us with our reading strategies.  We are going to learn skills for building our comprehension, accuracy, fluency, and vocabulary.
The far right side is our Student of the Week board.  Each week we will have a student of the week.  He or she will be invited to share pictures, items, and letters from their parents to help us learn more about him or her.
All of our extra supplies, math materials, paper, and reading materials are stored in these cabinets.  The circle pocket chart holds information about our current IB study.  The yellow pockets are our classroom dictionary.
This is a view of the front of our classroom.  The board to the left will have the newsletter, WOW, and other important information posted on it each week.  The board to the right is our "bucket fillers" board.  Each time a student helps another student or does something kind they will receive a "drop in their bucket."  Our drops in buckets are pom-pom balls.  Each student's goal is to have a full bucket!  I can't wait to see how many times each student fills up their bucket!
This is a portion of our classroom library.  I store the majority of our chapter books on this shelf and in the basket.  The closet to the right has bathroom sticks and our behavior management system.  You may ask your child to explain each of these items to you at home.
The chairs in this picture are used during reading time.  The students love them!  You will also notice a map of Alabama and other facts about our state.  In the fourth grade we study Alabama History.
This is our computer center.  The students LOVE the computers.  Luckily this year we also have a Macbook cart and 3 netbook carts so students should always have access to computers :)
